It is always useful to come back to Plato and to see how he comments the Heraclitus stone in a book he has written when he was young, Ion.
The Heraclitus stone is what we called in Antiquity magnetic stones, and they were fascinating people at that time.
On this image you can see a little stone with some paper clips, and these paper clips show to you how magnetism is acting, in a simple way and basic way. On your right you see bigger stones. They can be found on the Eastern Island and they were able to deceive compasses and to make ships loosing the North.
Such stones can be also found for example next to the lake Titicaca in Peru, and such stones have always fascinated people in the different civilisations.
